We're often reminded that unscheduled trains can run at any time and while retrieving equipment from within Finghall station for the veg team on Thursday 9th April, I was startled by an unexpected sound from outside. On investigation I found this big beastie had arrived - 37250. (09/04/2026)

A new addition to our freight rolling stock!
Ex LMS 20-ton brake van (M731242) arrived recently at Leeming Bar and will be a very useful bit of kit on our railway. The wagon is privately owned and will receive some cosmetic attention over the coming months. (30/04/2026)Click here to see higher resolution photo

The levers have now been painted at the recently restored and rebuilt lever frame at Scruton. Note the green levers. During NER days, distant signal levers were painted green and not the modern yellow. This matches the period that Scruton station is set in. The levers have been painted as per original when the frame was at Aiskew.
When these levers were restored, it was found that they had been originally painted green under the more modern yellow. (30/04/2026)Click here to see higher resolution photo
